We've never been a Leggo family. I always hated those little blocks. They look harmless enough, but when you step on one, seriously! I didn't ever buy any, but of course, my boys got them as gifts. So, I would put up with them, but I have a strict rule, if I step on it, I throw it away. Naturally, they didn't last long. 
But, with spring break approaching, I decided to go against my instincts and buy some Leggos for the boys for Easter. WOW! I was completely surprised. They have been playing with them nonstop, even ignoring the Wii and the TV to make their creations.
I'm impressed with how creative they've been. Of course, I have to take pictures of everything. Adam and Jake even made a facebook page for their horse. It's made a snowy spring break much more bearable. (I'm still counting the hours till they go back, though.)

I loved Leggos when I was young. My mom had the same rule though. We always heard it when she stepped on one! Funny, I've never bought them for my kids. Sad.
Legos are cool because they can be anything! I'm glad your kids had fun with them. =)
