I'm a bad mom. I don't always like going to the park when my kids are little, it's too much work. For me, that is. I'm always thrilled when they are big enough to play by themselves. It's such a great feeling when they reach that point where they can figure things out on their own. Noah needed help the first two times he went up this rock wall, then he did it all by himself.

It's exciting, then they do things like this and it becomes terrifying. Yup, that's Max. Six years-old and the only one of my kids to ever skate at a skate park. I cringe the whole time I watch him. I can just imagine the broken bones. I know, I know, no pads or helmet. I told you I was a bad mom.

No, you're a good mom, they have the confidence to try new things by themselves. I don't take the kids to the park at all. That's Will's job.
My kids have helmets, they sit in the garage while they go out and play, ride and crash without them. I'm right there with ya.
