A couple of times in the past few weeks, I've commented on how Sadie is the only one of our kids that has never been to the emergency room. When I told her this on Saturday night, as we waited for the ER doctor, she told me it was all my fault. I'd jinxed her. Well, actually, I've made comments like that many times over the past 12 years. She started out easier, my easiest labor and recovery. She's always been healthy, with just a few blips on her radar over the years. Looking back, the only things I remember are the walking pneumonia when she was five that was followed by 6 months of unexplainable hives that left as mysteriously as they came. The other is the finger infection she just got rid of. Other than that, the girl is a horse (you know, healthy as a..). But, life is unexpected. You never know when you're at a wedding reception, visiting with friends, that in an hour you'll be in the hospital with your daughter. It wasn't a big thing, really. Sadie was at her friend's house. They were playing with the friend's lab puppy. In play, the puppy bit Sadie's ear. Honestly, I didn't think your ear would bleed that much. I thought it was a much smaller wound because I couldn't see it all, because of the blood. Poor girl was terrified to go to the hospital, she was literally shaking. We got right into an exam room, which I knew was a good thing. We were there for 2 1/2 hours, again a good thing where hospitals are concerned. She got 7 stitches. The doctor told us she was lucky it didn't go all the way through her ear. The stitches come out this week & she shouldn't have too much of a scar,

Tell your sweet gal that it's always good to have 'conversation starters'! Glad it's not too serious and it'll be just a tiny scar covered up with hair for the most part!
OUCH! Sorry Sadie, that is not fun!
I will try to remember not to nibble on your sore ear when we are making love
